Lesson Learned

There are similar trips that have gone before and there are lessons to be learned.

I remember reading about this expedition pretty soon after it happened. Anything done for the first time is going to have a learning curve involved, that's why it hasn't been done before. That isn't an excuse for not applying common sense. It is always easier to say that as an observer. The truth is if you aren't there you don't know all the facts. Wha can I learn from this? Be prepared and stick to the plan. Assume shit will happen and have a backup.
